Pinoy Food 101: How To Make Puto Maya






Ingredients:

4 Cups Pilit (Sticky Rice)
4 Cups Coconut Milk
1 Cup White Sugar
1 Table Spoon Salt
2 Inches Ginger (thinly sliced)





How To Prepare:

  1. Rinse and soak pilit for an hour.
  2. Cook coconut milk in a cooking pan then add the sugar, salt and ginger upon boiling.
  3. Continue stirring until thick.
  4. Add the pre-soak pilit in the coconut mixture.
  5. Continue stirring until pilit is thoroughly mixed with the coconut mixture then simmer (paanuki).
  6. Steam the cooked pilit for 30-45 minutes.
  7. Serve with mangoes and hot chocolate. Enjoy!
